Audiophiles.

The verdict is in. I was tasked last week via AT&T (@att) to review 3 headsets..so here we go.

My personal favorite: The Moshi Audio vortex. Overall, the best designed and functional buds of the trio. Excellent packaging, the additional ear tips included to help with a better fit is a plus and the carrying case thingy is hella dope. The sound quality is excellent not as good as the Skullcandy Fix’s but what it may lack (which is actually a miniscule difference) in sound it makes up for in construction, presentation, comfortability and style. These jonts are a keeper for sure.  Low end response is dope. Highs aren’t too crispy, works well with both phone and idevice. i’m all in.

Runner up: Skullcandy Fix. These are no frills ear buds. they have a nice little logoe’d carrying case that comes with them. The box it’s housed in is actually flyer than the product. ( as far as design is concerned). Do they sound good? Hell to the yes. these jonts crank.  I tested bass response using ATCQ’s Low End Theory and B’more club remixes. Taut! The only drawback is that, though they claim that these buds put an end to the pesky readjustments needed in order for this style of bud to fit comfortably in ear, honestly they do not. My ears are not of Liliputian origin, so I expect a decent fit without having to  “fumble” with the headset instead of listening to music. Nah b, i can’t do it. I’ll opt for comfort and sound over sound and discomfort anyday.

The Not for Me: I gather that the Plantronics Backbeat 903+ wireless headphones are supposed to be hot because its wireless Bluetooth and yadda yadda. Nope. No bueno, no caliente. I understand the concept, I get it, but i hung up on several people, several times, trying to adjust the headset for comfort. not good. The Bluetooth synching was the easiest thing about these headphones. Everything else was a cluster expletive. The headset was uncomfortable, the controls were not placed well (resulting in the aforementioned hangups, unintended mutes and random music starting to play), the sound quality was excellent, actually just as good as the Moshi Audio set, but it takes you more time to get the headset fitting properly, which in the end just makes you want to take them off. As far as headset function, I had complaints about the quality of my voice on the listeners end although on my end the speaker was clear. Overall. I think these would be best for long flights or layover, where you’re not moving too much and you just need a set to get you through the doldrums. Once properly adjusted they sound great and work well. it’s just everything up until that point.

I appreciate the opportunity to review the products and hope that they send me more products to review. As compensation, I was allowed to keep my favorite pair, which is always a bonus. jyeah!
